But before we do that, let's just take a minute, check these out, and make sure they're gonna be the right solution for you. So if you're watching this right now, chances are pretty good you've probably noticed some issues with your suspension performance whenever you're towing a trailer down the road, and probably getting some of that squat once you get hooked up. Truck's probably sagging down a little bit and just overall bad ride. A lot of times what happens, the back will squat, the front will lift up so your headlights are up in the air, you lose some of your steering performance, your braking performance. more

Air helper springs are going to be a suspension enhancement that is designed to help to some of the load that you have, either in the bed of your truck or on the hitch behind your truck. To show you a little bit better what we mean, we're gonna go underneath the truck and show you what they look like when they're installed. Now, underneath our vehicle you can get a much better look at the airbags and what they're actually accomplishing. So, you can see our bracket here is bolted up to our frame and it's gonna take the place of your jounce bumpers, and it's bolted down to our axle also. more

Three quarter-ton trucks like we have here today do a really good job of towing. And our neighbor today, he has a very nice truck that he has, a B&W Companion Fifth Wheel. This is what the Hellwig suspension upgrade can look like underneath your truck, and it's a really simple concept how it works, right So the Hellwig spring pack is going to essentially attach to your factory spring pack and that's how it's gonna provide that additional support. So whenever you have weight in the back of the truck or hooked up to your trailer, whatever, your suspension is going to want to squat down. And today we're taking a look at installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5,000 Ultimate Plus rear helper airbags with internal jounce bumpers on a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 LD. Adding airbags to a vehicle is definitely one of the quickest ways to get that sag removed when having a load on it. And there's other options out there as far as internal jounce bumpers. But as far as adjustability goes, airbags are the king because, well, you can add pressure as necessary. And these ones are gonna be a manual dual-path, which means that you have individual control of each bag and you're gonna be be manually filling them. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 3500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Airbags. There's a lot of different reasons why you might be wanting to add a set of airbags to your truck. The specific reason we have here is our driver here is a hotshot driver, which means he just delivers small LTL loads for different companies and stuff. So he's pulling a 50-foot gooseneck trailer and he needs support in the rear end of his truck. The factory suspension, even though this is a 3500, they do come pretty stiff, but once you get closer to that max capacity to the truck, the back end of the truck starts to sag pretty good. more

Hi, John with Etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 series on our 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. If you use your truck like a truck, you know that every time you load it down, your truck kind of sags in the back. And you're gonna get usually a terrible ride, and your headlights are gonna be shooting up as you're going down the road, Air Lift load springs are gonna bring your truck back to the factory ride height, that's gonna be the most comfortable ride and the safest ride. For instance, on our truck today, this truck has already been outfitted with some great storage units in the back of this truck, and it came to us loaded down here. So we're gonna get some measurements on it just to see what their normal day-to-day ride height looks like on this. more

SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at installing these SumoSprings solo custom helper springs for the rear axle on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500. Now, these have a 1500 pound capacity, and that's not necessarily going to add capacity to your truck, it's kind of what they're rated for as far as what weight you'll be using. So, if you have a payload in the back of the truck that's about 1500, that's gonna be perfect. Or if you have a fifth wheel or a trailer that puts a decent amount of tongue weight on your truck, this is gonna help regardless. And really, the great part about these is they engage quicker than your factory jounce bumpers and they're also progressive. more

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs here on a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. Adding air helper springs here to your Silverado is gonna be an excellent option, because what it's gonna do is it's gonna provide some rear-end support when we're towing and hauling those heavy loads. So if we don't add any suspension enhancements to our truck here and we couple that really heavy trailer or we're throwing a ton of weight in our truck bed, what that's gonna do is it's going to sag the rear of the truck and it's gonna bring the front end of the truck up. Now that not only looks kind of goofy, that's actually gonna have drastic effects on our overall towing experience and the handling and performance of our truck. So one of the major things that people don't realize is a lot of our braking force comes from the front axle, and that braking force relies on the weight over the axle to help the truck come to a stop. So when we take the weight off the front axle and transfer it to the rear we're gonna be drastically reducing our braking power. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Timbren suspension enhancement system for the rear axle on a 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500. Adding rear suspension helper springs is really a great option because your factory jounce bumper is pretty short and a lot of that comes down to people are daily driving their trucks more and more, so manufacturers are kind of making them a little bit more comfortable and that way, when you're daily driving, you're not getting that harsh suspension. But with that, sometimes the suspension squats quite a bit. And partially I think is because the jounce bumpers take so long to engage and by the time they do engage that suspensions really lost a lot of this travel. Whereas adding these are going to kind of give it a fighting chance. It's not gonna be able to squish down all the way and that's gonna allow those shocks to have more compression as you hit bumps. more

Trucks have become kind of daily drivers for a lot of people, and with that, they're really aiming for comfort. But when you need a truck to do truck things, as far as carry weight or tow a trailer, it can still do it. The thing is, is that comfort that they've designed has allowed the vehicle to really sag and you're not gonna get as much suspension travel, and a lot of that comes down to your jounce bumpers. It takes a long time for those to engage. Well, if you can engage them a little bit quicker, it's gonna soften that blow, not only on normal driving, but also when that heavy load comes, the rear suspension is going to fight back with these SumoSprings in place, giving the suspension a fighting chance and just making a better overall towing experience. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Air Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs for a 2012 Chevy Silverado. Now, if you tow trailers regularly, or you have a heavy load building up on the back of your truck, you may notice the decrease in the ability of your suspension to account for that weight and that's where these airbags come into play. They're wonderful because they are adjustable, so if you don't have a load loaded up on your vehicle, your vehicle's gonna operate just about as normal. But when you have that extra weight loaded up, you can add air to these, allowing you to really give it a more supple ride and it's also gonna help your suspension not wear out. Along with that, it's also gonna keep you safer, giving you better handling, less tire wear, better braking your headlight level will actually be where they should be instead of pointing up, and overall, it's gonna give you a lot more confidence when towing that load or carrying something heavy. more

All right, so here's our Roadmaster Active Suspension kit installed on our 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. As you can see, uses a simple hook to attach onto the leaf spring up here, and then down here, it uses some brackets with a bolt that's gonna go on the other side of your spring stack. So the Roadmaster Active Suspension system is gonna really help out with any pin weight issues that you have with your fifth wheel. more

Roadmaster Active Suspension Leaf Spring Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Roadmaster Active Suspension Heavy Duty Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. So, this heavy duty custom leaf spring kit is gonna be really good about mitigating any sag that you might experience when you're dropping in a heavy load, maybe you're hauling your travel trailer, your fifth wheel and you're just seeing just too big of a sag and it's kinda forcing the front of your truck up and pulling your wheels off of the ground, which is gonna affect your wear on your tires and your braking. So, that's gonna help mitigate that, along with our SumoSprings that our customer already has installed on his truck today. That's just gonna overall together, give you a better ride quality and better handling so that you maintain a safe and comfortable ride. All right. Hey, guys, Kevin here with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the coil SumoSprings on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. So these coil SumoSprings are gonna be really great if you have a snow plow on the front of your Chevy, your Dodge, or your Ford truck, or if you have a wench or any other front-mounted accessory, maybe you have a bike rack on the front and you've got four bikes, and it's really just sagging you down up front and you just need that extra support. And so that you don't feel all those bumps in the road up front. These are also really good if you're off-roading. It will help give your springs a little bit more oomph there, so that they can hold in place and give you a nice stable ride. more

Stability Plus Stabilizer Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Stability Plus Stabilizer on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. So the Stability Plus Stabilizer is really gonna help if you're hauling heavy loads, maybe you got a fifth wheel, maybe you have a travel trailer and it's giving you a whole lot of sag. Dropping you down, putting more weight on the back, then on the front, it really will help out lifting that load back up and mitigating that stress that it's putting on your axle and on your leaf springs and that's going to give you better drivability. You won't have as hard of a time trying to make turns. It's gonna kind of help with any swaying as well. And that's also ultimately gonna affect your brakes as well because if you're putting too much pressure back here, and you're putting it all on these tires, you're gonna be losing your breaking power up front and putting all of it on the back, which'll in turn, give you less breaking power. more

But before we do that, why don't we check 'em out, kind of run through a couple of tests, and see if these are a suspension enhancement that's gonna work out for you Before we actually put our suspension enhancement on, what we like to do is just run through a couple of tests, you know, before and after. That way, we can really kinda compare and get a good feel for how these air bags affect the performance of our truck. Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter XL air helper springs here on our 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. So in order to see how much of a difference our airbags can make, we're gonna be taking some measurements here of the stock suspension unloaded so we can show you how much it changed once we put some weight in the bed and add our airbags. So keep in mind, these measurements we're just using is a reference point. You don't need to worry about your measurements matching these measurements or your measurements being different. But at the rear here, we're gonna measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the wheel well, the bottom edge rather, and at the rear here, we're looking at about 42 inches. more

Connor: Hey everybody, Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Firestone Red Label Air Helper Springs here on our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. So here's what our Air Springs are going to look like when they're installed on our truck, they're going to actually replace the factory jounce bumper here an they're going to bolt on using an upper bracket and a lower bracket. It is a completely bolt-on installation, so we don't have to drill any holes or make any modifications to our truck to be able to install these. So adding airbags to your truck is going to be a great option for anyone who's looking to tow or haul frequently. So basically what this does is, it helps us reduce rear-end sag that's going to be a consequence of putting a lot of weight in our truck bed or carrying a trailer with a heavy tongue.So in regards to suspension enhancements, you have quite a few different options for your truck here, however, I believe airbags, particularly the ones we have installed here, are going to be your best option. more
